Deal of the day A Philippine desktop computer for P10,800 including LCD Monitor Wow!
Wednesday, November 18, 2009
My comment: A PC for as low as P10,800? Would you get one? I posted this blog about 5 months ago and I saw recently one of the shops continued to advertise this deal but a little higher now about P11,000 and I am not sure if it has the same exact specs but its worth checking out against other deals. Also check out the computer locations in my blogs noted at end as well as a cheap shop to assemble your own computer with a processor higher than a Atom processor
Intel, along with Commission for Philippine Information and Communications Technology (CICT), announced today a low-cost PC dubbed as Nettop ng Bayan 2.0.
The updated version of the Nettop ng Bayan (thus the 2.0) is aimed at first-time PC buyers especially those who don’t want to spend much for a PC that’s only going to be used for surfing the web or other online activities.
The P10,800 Nettop ng Bayan 2.0 will have the basic specs of:
Intel Atom Processor
80GB Hardisk
1GB Memory
Keyboard and Mouse
LCD Monitor
There’s no OS included nor an optical drive at that price but dealers can give you options to have them as well as upgrade some parts such as HD, memory, internet plan, etc.
The chassis and monitor size may differ between dealers but the listed specs are the basic that they agreed with Intel to sell for P10,800.

From a comment : Forsaken Destiny on July 29, 2009 We already tested this unit for any flaws. It can still play some decent games, Warcraft 3 included, as long as it meets system requirements on par with Pentium 4. Intel Atom is also a dual core btw…
Upgrade it to 2GB, and it’s also decent for basic image editing. Now, the problem is the CD drive. I’m not worried with this, since Samsung has an external DVD drive for only P3,100 (USB powered, no adapter required).
The hard disk is also expandable, since the system has a SATA port. The biggest flaw of the system, however, is that you can’t upgrade the processor… forever. It’s soldered down the board, so when the board goes down, so does the processor.
Fret not, though. The board only costs P3,500 above. Processor included The posting is from a blog here http://www.waukster.com/nettop-ng-bayan-20-pc-for-p10800/

need to got the gasoline station to "fill it up."

Suzuki Alto Debuts in the Philippines
LEADING compact car manufacturer Suzuki goes back to the basics as it brings to the Philippines one of the most popular compact cars that is recognized worldwide for its stability, fuel efficiency and affordability—the Suzuki Alto.
Initially introduced in Japan in 1979, the Suzuki Alto, which will be officially launched today at the Le Pavilion in Pasay City, has reached the 10-million mark for units sold worldwide. It has been tried and tested in the tight streets of European countries such as Italy, Germany, the Netherlands and England, and currently is the number-one-selling car in India, with an average of 20,000 units sold every month.
The Suzuki Alto measures an overall height of 1,455 mm, overall width of 1,495 mm, an overall length of 3,495 mm, wheel base of 2,360 mm, ground clearance of 160 mm and weighs 760 kg (curb weight). The Suzuki Alto is, likewise, packed with the most basic yet most important car features—an 800cc, three-cylinder, 12-valve engine with a maximum output of 47 hp at 6,200 rpm and a maximum torque of 62 Nm at 3,000 rpm. It also employs the standard Suzuki side-impact beams on all doors which gives the passengers more protection in case of collisions, a third brake light, front and rear three-point emergency locking retractable (ELR) seatbelts and rear-door childproof locks.
Fuel injected and computer controlled for maximum fuel efficiency, the Suzuki Alto runs at an impressive 17 km per liter consumption (combined city and highway driving) with a five-speed manual transmission.
The Suzuki Alto is the most affordable car to date. It has two variants—the Standard with an SRP of P359,000 and the De Luxe with an SRP of P398,000 and both models are bundled with a three-year or 100,000-km (whichever comes first) factory warranty. The Suzuki Alto comes in Superior White, Virgin Blue Metallic, Silky Silver Metallic, Bright Red (De Luxe) and Sparkling Olive Green Metallic (De Luxe).
